Penlight - First Release on Itch (0.1212.1)

Hello, everyone!

This, my first visual novel, has been some time in the making. Penlight has existed in various forms and states of completion for at least five years now, but it's only since the last seven or eight months that I've been able to work up the nerve to commit to something I could show a wider audience. I'm still pretty anxious about it (it's in my nature), but I committed to it by opening a Patreon page a couple months ago, and now, I'm taking it to Itch :)

There are a few minor bugs in this release, and some of the writing is pretty rough, especially towards the end, but I think some of you will like what you see so far and look forward to next month's update~

Currently In-Game

• Multiple words (almost 37,000)
• Two fully-playable routes from start to finish
• At least one consequential choice in each route
• Cheaply-sourced stock sprites and backgrounds (hoping to replace at least the sprites with bespoke art at some point)

Latest Changes

• Changed the font from the default Ren'Py font
• Changed the narrator text to blue
• Added a graphic of the penlight 
• Lots of back-end code changes to the way images are generated (possible bugs ^^;)
• Added a new mini-path in the consensual route, where Kyou lies about accepting Nozomi's boundaries (It's super hacky and I hope to improve it muchly when I have time)
• Some textual tweaks here and there throughout the game
• A few more spelling and grammar fixes
• Added a placeholder title screen.
